Before we started traveling full-time we spent a lot of time at Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. It's one of the largest and most visited lakes in the east. With over 1200 miles of shoreline it is home to many campgrounds, marinas, and the love for boating and water sports. One of my favorite things about the midwest is the storms, most weekends we spent at the lake had at least one good one. I love the calm before it arrives, the breeze bringing in the smell of fresh falling rain. Sometimes late in the season, on early mornings, you get this stunning glass surface perfectly reflecting the approaching day. This was one of those days that we knew we would be stuck inside the camper, watching movies and feasting on junk food due to the approaching storm. So I got out early, walked down to the lake and watching the sun break through the clouds in this stunning display of light and shadow.
